How To Program Your Garage Door Opener

Odyssey® 1000 Model 7030

Prior to programming, ensure that all elements of the systems are properly assembled and installed:

  • the power head and rail;
  • the safety beam system and associated wiring;
  • the wall console, wired and installed;
  • the power head unit plugged into an appropriate electrical outlet.

Setting limits? It is very important to ensure the bullet is engaged in the carriage before setting the limits. Pull the release handle down and towards the power head. Ensure the carriage is engaged before moving to the next step.

SMART SET ™ Programming Technology

The Odyssey 1000 garage door openers feature Smart Set™Programming technology to quickly and easily complete programming.The power head software features the following menu of options:

  1. Remote program
  2. Limits program
  3. Speed program
  4. Force program

Using the Power Head panel buttons (see illustration. From left to right: Long LED, Round LED, Program Set Button, Down-Travel Arrow, Up-Open Arrow), you can quickly access the necessary menu and complete your programming.

Enter Programming Menu

On the power head:

  1. Press and hold the PROGRAM button until both LEDs turn BLUE.
  2. Release button. Only the round LED will remain BLUE. It begins in the Remote Program menu. Press the Up-Open Travel button to move through menus:

LIGHTS INDICATE:

  • Remote Program (round blue LED)
  • Limits Program (long blue LED)
  • Speed Program (both blue LEDs)
  • Force Program (round red LED)

The LED lights change to indicate a different menu. To enter your desired menu, press the Program Set button. To start over, wait 30 seconds for all LEDs to go off.

Programming Limits

On the power head:

  1. Press and hold the PROGRAM button until both LEDs turn BLUE.
  2. Press the Open-travel button to move down the menu to Limits Program (long blue LED)
  3. Press the PROGRAM Set button to select Limits Programming.
  4. Press and hold the close-travel button to set the door in the full closed position.5. Press the Program Set button to save the closed limit position.
  5. Press and hold the open-travel button to set the door in the desired open position.
  6. Press the PROGRAM set button to save the open limit position.
  7. To complete the limit setting, use the wall console to open and close the door one full cycle, and set the force profile.

Force Settings

The Odyssey™ 1000 garage door opener features Door Detect™monitoring and Diagnostic Technology that senses the exact amount of force needed at every movement of the door to automatically set the force profile. The opener will automatically set the force profile during the first full open/close cycle after setting the limits.

To adjust the force profile, simply enter the force program menu on the power head panel and make the necessary changes. Detailed instructions on changing the force settings are available in the troubleshooting section of the operations manual included with the unit.

Programming CodeDodger® 2 Remotes

On the power head:

  1. Press and hold the PROGRAM button until both LEDs turn BLUE.
  2. Press the PROGRAM set button again to select the Remote Program menu (long blue LED flashing).

On your remote control:

  1. Press and release your desired remote button; (long blue LED glows solid).
  2. Press and release the remote button again; (both LEDs glow)
  3. Press and release the remote button the final time to operate the door (short round LED flashes). The remote is now programed.

Programming CodeDodger® 1 Remotes

To program a CodeDodger 1 remote you must have a CodeDodger 2 remote available and already programmed.

On the power head:

  1. Press and hold the PROGRAM button until both LEDs turn BLUE.
  2. Press the PROGRAM set button again to select the Remote Program menu (long blue LED flashes).

On your existing Code Dodger 2 remote control:

  1. Press and release your already programmed remote button; (both LEDs flash steadily).

On your Code Dodger 1remote control:

  1. Press and release your desired remote button; (both LEDs glow solid).
  2. Press and release again.
  3. Press again to operate the door. The remote is now programmed.


Programming CodeDodger® 1 Wireless Keypad

Set your keypad PIN (Personal Identification Number)

On your wireless keypad

  1. Simultaneously press and hold the Program Button and the Up/Down arrow button until the keypad lights go out.
  2. Press in order 3-5-7-Program.
  3. Enter your desired PIN (3 to 8 characters)
  4. Press the PROGRAM button and wait for the lights to turn off. The PIN is now set.

On the power head:

  1. Press and hold PROGRAM Set to enter the Programming Menu,
  2. Press the PROGRAM Set button again to enter the Remote Program menu.(long blue LED flashes).

On the wireless keypad,

  1. Enter your PIN number,
  2. Press the up/down arrow button once (Power head: Long Blue LED glows solid)
  3. Press the up/down arrow button again. (Power head: Both LEDs glow solid)
  4. Press again to operate the unit. The wireless keypad is now programed.
